What is CBD?
CBD Vs. THC
The most obvious difference in the two is the fact that THC provides you with a ‘high,’ whereas CBD does not. All WELL products have ZERO THC.
How Does CBD Work?
Unlike other cannabinoids — such as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) — CBD does not produce a euphoric "high" or psychoactive effect. This is because CBD does not affect the same receptors as THC.
The human body has an endocannabinoid system (ECS) that receives and translates signals from cannabinoids. It produces some cannabinoids of its own, which are called endocannabinoids. The ECS helps to regulate functions such as sleep, immune-system responses, and pain.
Tips for Applying Topical CBD Oils
If you’re unfamiliar with or unsure how to properly and effectively apply topicals to your skin, follow these simple instructions to ensure you’re getting the most out of your CBD products.
- Don’t mix CBD skin products with other topical products.
It’s important that you are applying the CBD topical to areas of the skin that are unaffected by other skin-care products. Making sure that you are applying your topicals to clean, product-free skin ensures that your skin is effectively absorbing the oil in its entirety. Mixing CBD oil with other products will only dilute the effects and reduce its effectiveness.
- Make sure you are applying it at the right time.
Do not apply CBD oil before bathing or taking part in an activity that will make you sweat. Water will only wash away the oil from your skin before it has time to absorb and do its work. Excessive sweating can also prevent the oil from penetrating the skin, which will nullify the effects.
- Apply liberally and massage CBD products into the skin.
Once the oil has been applied, massage it gently but firmly into your skin. You are applying a pain relief oil/lotion directly to the problem area, whereas when you take drops – it must travels through your entire system to try and reach the problem area.
