What is CBD?

CBD Vs. THC

The most obvious difference in the two is the fact that THC provides you with a ‘high,’ whereas CBD does not.  All WELL products have ZERO THC.

So WHY CBD?

The human body has an endocannabinoid system (ECS) that receives and translates signals it receives from cannabinoids in the body. The body produces some cannabinoids on its own, which are called endocannabinoids. The ECS helps regulate functions such as sleep, immune-system responses, and pain.

CBD is not psychoactive, it does not produce a "high" or change a person's state of mind. Instead, it influences the body to use its own endocannabinoids more effectively.

CBD stops the body from absorbing anandamide, one compound associated with regulating pain. Increased levels of anandamide in the bloodstream may reduce the amount of pain a person feels.

Cannabidiol also limits inflammation in the brain and nervous system, which may help people experiencing pain, insomnia, and certain immune-system responses.

Tips for Applying Topical CBD Oils

If you’re unfamiliar with or unsure how to properly and effectively apply topicals to your skin, follow these simple instructions to ensure you’re getting the most out of your CBD products.

  1. Don’t mix CBD skin products with other topical products.

It’s important that you are applying the CBD topical to areas of the skin that are unaffected by other skin-care products. Making sure that you are applying your topicals to clean, product-free skin ensures that your skin is effectively absorbing the oil in its entirety. Mixing CBD oil with other products will only dilute the effects and reduce its effectiveness.

  1. Make sure you are applying it at the right time.

Do not apply CBD oil before bathing or taking part in an activity that will make you sweat. Water will only wash away the oil from your skin before it has time to absorb and do its work. Excessive sweating can also prevent the oil from penetrating the skin, which will nullify the effects.

  1. Apply liberally and massage CBD products into the skin.

Once the oil has been applied, massage it gently but firmly into your skin. The body won’t absorb much of the cannabinoid in small doses, so be sure to apply liberally. Once you’re done, make sure you wash your hands so you do not inadvertently spread potentially irritable substances to sensitive areas. Some oils contain substances that may cause discomfort and irritation to the wrong parts of the body, such as the eyes.
